I have been thinking that its not because of rudeness and impoliteness that North Americans tend to interrupt when other people are talking… its simply because they are engaged and have a lot of things on their minds and heart they wish to share.
Most of the time they truly wish they could “remain seated” while another person put their statements forward, but the inherent engagement of the North American prevents them from sitting back and listening until the other person finishes whatever it was they were stating.
This is just an arbitrary idea which has come to the surface after spending about a week in the lovely city of San Francisco at the Adobe MAX NA 2008 conference…
